According to azcentral.com Jennifer Willmott, one of Arias’ defense attorneys has a conflict with the trial start date of July 18. This means it is likely the date will be pushed back. The Maricopa County Attorney, Bill Montgomery has stated: “Right now we are preparing for for trial…it would be irresponsible not to prepare, regardless of what final decisions are made.” Earlier Montgomery said that he would be willing to discuss options with the defense attorneys regarding resolving this case: “If they were to make an offer of resolution, I think I have an ethical responsibility to consider that.”

I don’t trust her either. I can’t believe the things she said and did during that trial. I know she had to defend Arias but honest people have to draw the line some where. I have been trying to find a way to send a link to this site from Twitter. It has the paper work Nurmei filed for Arias trying to fight Martinez’s right to use her lack of remorse against her to the new jury, stating that even though she was found guilty she still maintains her to claim self defense. I hope it is turned down.
I saw that document- it is an old motion that said because it was self defense she didn’t have remorse so the State couldn’t argue lack of remorse in the penalty phase. It was approved and Martinez never brought up her lack of remorse.
They looked like best friends in court. Made me sick. Hope Martinez is able to get everything in. DP ONLY!
Ditto. Willmott is pretty slippery. Nurmi is head counsel but it seems most of the psych bs and the overall defiant attitude comes from Willy. She has coddled Jodi in court and seems to have too much of a personal connection to her, I think.
