Yesterday the police received a tip regarding the whereabouts of Baby Elaina Steinfurth. Remains have been found in a computer box that was in Angela Steinfurth’s boyfriend’s (Stephen King) garage. The baby went missing on June 1st. The coroner will determine whether this is in fact baby Elaina. Both Steinfurth and King are currently incarcerated.

Today Stephen King, the boyfriend of Elaina’s Mom, pleaded not guilty to charges of obstructing the police investigation of this case. Yesterday when the Mom, Angela Steinfurth appeared in court also for obstructing justice, we heard for the first time that the case is being investigated as a homicide. The family is still holding out hope that the baby is alive. Links for both articles below:

Just 2 days before the mother of a missing East Toledo toddler is scheduled to appear in court, her ex-boyfriend has also been arrested and charged with obstructing justice in the case.
Steven King was taken into custody on Monday and told reporters, “You guys will see when I’m innocent. That’s all I’ve got to say to you.”

Angela Steinfurth appeared before the grand jury today and was indicted for obstruction (giving false information). After telling the police that baby Elaina was injured and that she did not seek medical help for her, Angela was also charged with Child Endangering. The baby has been missing for over 3 weeks now. A tip to the FBI early last week implied the boyfriend threw the baby against the wall, then put her in bed. When checking on her later she was dead, so Angela and her boyfriend wrapped Elaina in a blanket and threw her in the river (See mu earlier post ‘Baby Elaina Dead?’ for more info. Police spent much of the last week in and around the river searching for the toddler, with no results. Link to full article:

Relatives of a cellmate of Angela Steinfurth (the baby’s Mom) contacted the FBI with the following information: Angela confessed to helping her boyfriend dispose of the baby’s body. According to the source (Connie Elam) Angela’s boyfriend, Stephen W. King, threw baby Elaina against a wall late the eve of June 1, injuring her. He then put the toddler down for a nap and returned later to find the baby had died of the injuries. They then wrapped her up in a blanket and took her down by the high-level bridge and threw the baby inn the river. A neighbor said she saw the couple leave between 12- 1am in their van for about 20 minutes. Relatives of the cellmate say she has nothing to gain by providing this information. Link to full article:
