Patty Admits: No Death Threats

Just now on the Dr. Drew show Patty Womack, who asked Dr. Drew to introduce her as ‘Jodi’s Former Friend’, said she ‘never, ever received a death threat.’ She also said they were friends from ages 12-20, and that she and her other friends that knew Jodi couldn’t believe such a ‘sweet, sweet girl’ could do such a thing. Patty also disputes the DUI (for heroin) charges and the aggravated assault charges saying someone made them up and she has ‘never been in trouble.’ Then she went on to say the “State Vs. Jodi’ site posted her address and now the ‘whole entire world’ knows where she lives. (For more on Patty just type in “patty’ in my search bar.)

The woman who refused to be on camera in court (and then refused to testify at all) is showing up on HLN again. If she is so terrified and getting death threats then why is she on Jane Mitchell’s show and slated to be on Dr. Drew tomorrow night? Last time I checked death threats were illegal and those that give them can be tracked and prosecuted. If I was worried for the safety of myself and my daughter I would not be on TV at all. I would distance myself from Jodi and this case altogether.

Personally I don’t buy it. The day she actually showed up in court to testify for Jodi in the Penalty phase she backed out when Juan questioned her. Patty refused to answer questions about whether she and Jodi did drugs together. (She went out into the hall with the defense attorneys and returned saying she wanted to ‘take the fifth.’)

 These were not her lawyers and were not supposed to give her any advice. A lawyer was later brought in for her. I did not hear it, but I bet he also brought up her DUI arrest for Heroin. She was also questioned about the monies she received from the Nancy Grace show- remember she showed the video of Jodi at her wedding? Well she apparently forgot to claim the money she received! Oops! (Though I don’t know if it is true, someone said she is on welfare and she was supposed to tell them she got that money).

I also heard that she was not properly dressed for court, and that they tried putting a sweater over her but it wasn’t good enough. If I were Jodi I would NOT want his mess standing up for me!

Defense Files For Mistrial

According to azcentral.com the defense attorneys filed another motion for mistrial on Sunday. They say the witness Patty Womack withdrew from testifying due to death threats. Kirk Nurmi wrote in the motion ‘After returning home Ms. Womack began receiving threats, threats that included threats on her life if she were to testify on Ms. Arias’ behalf. On May 19th, 2013, Ms. Womack contacted counsel for Ms. Arias that she is no longer willing to testify due to these threats. It should also be noted that theses threats follow those made to Alyce LaViolette, a record of which was made ex-parte and under seal.’

The article goes on to say whether a defense attorney presents mitigation evidence becomes an issue on appeal.

Patty Has Dropped Out

Looks like the rumors were correct. According to Jeff Gold, esq., ‘ABC reports Womack backs out of testifying in Jodi Arias – abcnews.go.com…’  I had a feeling this would happen, though I think when she showed up for court Thursday inappropriately dressed (short-shorts and a  tank top) I heard they tried putting a sweater on her and the judge still wouldn’t let her testify.It was also reported she did not want her face to appear on camera, though she has been on HLN numerous times. You may recognize her from a prior day in court- you know, the day Patti gave Mr. Martinez the finger? Well this is the stellar witness for Jodi Arias. I cannot wait for Martinez to go after her. I can’t remember looking forward to anything so much. Yes, Martinez can and will cross Jodi’s friends. I believe this may be one reason the family will not speak for her. Can you imagine her Mom having to tell the prosecutor that she never hit Jodi and didn’t even own a wooden spoon? But I digress…more about Patti…

Before I drop the bombs I need to give credit where credit is due. Chris Stark is someone I really admire. She has done more research on this case and had more breaking news about it than anyone anywhere as far as I am concerned. She purposely spelled her name wrong: Patrisha Fawn Womack (Court Docs for this trial her name is spelled ‘Patricia’)

 Funny how she had a real problem with being on the Court camera today since she has been on media and is all over the internet. When I started to research her I just typed ‘Patti Womack Jodi Arias’ into google and there she was!
